BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT (BBL)
Butt augmentation surgery, also known as Brazilian butt lift, is a procedure performed to reshape the butt region to provide the patient a more shaped, fuller and steeper butt.
The fact that a smooth and plump butt is often seen as a symbol of femininity and charm has made this surgery increasingly popular worldwide in the last decade.
Two methods are most commonly used for this;
The first is augmenting using your own natural fat tissue and the second is augmenting with a silicone butt implant. Which method will be applied is decided after the surgeon evaluates the patient during the consultation.
Who are good candidates?
If you have a small butt according to your body contours and want your butt to look fuller and shaped
If your butt shape is very flat, square and you want a more youthful appearance with more pronounced lines
If weight loss and aging process caused you have a sagy, flat and loose butt
If your clothes or bathing suits are no longer as good as before, if your overall health is good and you have a positive attitude and have realistic expectations, you can be a suitable candidate for butt augmentation surgery.
With this surgery, tummy tuck, thigh lift, liposuction or breast augmentation operations can be done as a combination.
How is the operation done?
Butt lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia. It usually takes 2-3 hours. If a silicone implant method is used, plastic small tubes, called drains, are placed as a safety precaution in order to remove the fluids that may accumulate inside after surgery. Drains are removed after 3 days. In addition, a special corset is worn for 8 weeks in order to maintain the new butt shape. The patient is hosted in the hospital for one night. Fatigue, mild pain can be seen postoperatively and can be greatly reduced with appropriate medications. As the swellings decrease, the new butt shape becomes more prominent after 3-6 months and takes its final shape.
If fat injection is used, the patient may return to work after 10-14 days. However, you are asked to use a special BBL pillow while sitting to avoid pressure on the surgical site. You can return to your normal life in 8 weeks.
If silicone implant is used, the patient can return to work within 2-3 weeks. However, in this method, you will be asked to use a special pillow while sitting to avoid pressure on the surgical site. At the end of the 3rd week, is allowed to sit and drive using the pillow. After 8-10 weeks you can return to exercise and physical activities completely.
Does it leave permanent scars?
Depending on the method to be used:
Fat injection method
Liposuction cannulae for removing and giving fat from the subcutaneous tissue is very small and does not leave a specific scar.
Silicone implant method
It's just a scar between the butt cheeks.
Are the results permanent?
Under normal circumstances, the results of your butt augmentation surgery will take quite a long time. When a fat transfer is made with a successful fat injection, the injected fat remains there for the rest of your life. If a silicone implant is used, it can remain for years without removal, unless there are any late complications.
Butt augmentation surgery, although it is done to shape your butt, to maintain the new shape for a long time, changing your lifestyle, having healthy eating and doing exercise is very important.
